For the very first time, Canadian astronaut and former Commander of the International Space Station, Colonel Chris Hadfield, will appear live in the Czech Republic. Recognized worldwide as a symbol of exploration, science, and human achievement, Colonel Hadfield has inspired millions through his captivating storytelling, breathtaking photography.
Colonel Chris Hadfield is one of the most accomplished and celebrated astronauts of our time. A former fighter pilot and engineer, he was the first Canadian to walk in space and served as commander of the International Space Station (ISS) during Expedition 35 in 2013. His leadership and communication while aboard the ISS made him a global sensation, sharing life in orbit through stunning photography, science demonstrations, and his iconic cover of David Bowie’s Space Oddity—the first music video filmed in space.
Hadfield’s space career includes three spaceflights, spending a total of 166 days in space. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Order of Canada and NASA’s Exceptional Service Medal. Beyond his missions, Chris is a best-selling author of books like An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth and The Apollo Murders, and a sought-after speaker known for blending humor, insight, and inspiration. With his unique mix of experience, knowledge, and charisma, Colonel Hadfield continues to inspire audiences around the world, offering a rare and deeply human perspective on space exploration and the future of our planet.
This exclusive live event offers an extraordinary opportunity to experience Colonel Hadfield’s celebrated presentation in person. The evening will combine powerful personal stories from space, remarkable visuals captured aboard the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station, and a unique live music performance. The Czech shows will also feature a special local segment with the personal participation of Czech astronaut Aleš Svoboda and the Zero G Cadets from the Czech Path to Space program. Together, they will offer an inspiring perspective on the Czech Republic’s growing role in international space exploration.
This event is organized by Crown Comedy Club, the producer of major international appearances in the Czech Republic, including performances by Professor Brian Cox, Jimmy Carr, and Bill Burr. The production is led by Dominik Oždian, known to Czech audiences as Dominik Heřman Lev.
Our distinguished media and institutional partners include the Brno Observatory and Planetarium (under the direction of Senator Jiří Dušek), ESERO Czech Republic, Czech Path to Space, Kosmonautix, Kosmické novinky, and Vědátor.
This event will be an extraordinary celebration of human curiosity, courage, and imagination. We are delighted to extend this invitation to you and hope you will join us for what promises to be one of the most inspiring live experiences of the year.
